Events and readings will be organized for the May of 2016 Books in Naples and throughout Campania!
Until 31 May 2016, in Naples and throughout Italy, the event will take place May of the 2016 Books, promoted by the Center for Books and Reading of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
The event promotes the reading as a tool for education, sharing and recreation, fundamental elements in the personal, cultural and civil growth of every person who should be directed to reading from childhood.
The campaign will bring the books to libraries, libraries, schools and institutional spaces, but also in public places, in cinemas, in shops, on bus numbers, in gyms, parks, restaurants, because in every place we can devote ourselves to reading.
For the occasion in Naples will be organized presentations, competitions and interesting events, of which we highlight the most important below.

National Library of Naples
A visit that will introduce us to the ancient and varied collection kept in the library, with a special bibliographic path that illustrates the arrival in Naples of the sovereign Carlo di Borbone, heir to the so-called Farnesian collection, one of the most valuable libraries.

American Literature Reading Group
Reading meetings in English each time dedicated to a different theme, centered in each case on the society. We will talk, for example, about immigration.

A full day of book presentations, reading and music. The event, now in its third edition, will take place in San Giorgio a Cremano.

A voice just now
It is an experimental creative reading-writing laboratory, held by experts in the National Library, designed to promote the expressiveness and creativity of each of us.

A legendary day… air - books and readers on the streets of Vomero
A guided tour-route during which students will read aloud on the streets passages of books chosen by themselves on the common theme of the places of Naples, becoming cultural promoters.

The unfortunate prize
Assigned in memory of the writer Marcello d'Orta, on the initiative of the SELF, the Secondigliano book festival, which encourages the reading and culture of the young people of the neighborhood. Some students will read three texts by local authors: Outside children's stories that come out of Nisida; A long night by Maurizio De Giovanni and Alessandra d'Antonio; The War of the Three Goddesses by Maria Cristina Orga.
