From'11 February 2022, according to the government decree, the obligation to wear the mask outdoors will be eliminated, but the President of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, will not follow this provision, as stated in the new ordinance.

It will be valid at least until February 27 2022. Until this date, on the other hand, the Campania Region will be in the yellow zone.

Indeed, according to the Governor it is premature to eliminate this obligation and don't go too fast. Our Region will continue to maintain the provision, so i citizens will still have to keep their masks while outdoors.

Even if the government at the moment has decided that the obligation will fall only for the Regions in the white zone, probably in the next few days it will be decided to eliminate it for the whole of Italy. In any case, Campania is still in the yellow zone, so under the current provisions the obligation would remain in force.

What the ordinance says

As mentioned, the obligation to wear masks outdoors in Campania will be valid at least until February 27.

The ordinance states that there is an obligation:

  • in all non-isolated places such as in urban centers, squares, promenades during crowded hours and situations;
  • in lines, queues, markets or fairs and other events, even outdoors;
  • on outdoor public transport such as ferries, boats, ships.
