The Maschio Angioino will be open every Sunday morning with free admission

The wonderful Castel Nuovo (better known as Maschio Angioino) was the protagonist of an important restoration work yesterday. The ancient bridge in fir wood, now worn by the years, was replaced with a brand new bridge made up of iroko wood boards. The redevelopment works lasted only five days thanks to the intervention of a private company, the company Edil Legno of Treviso.

After the restoration of the bridge, the Municipality of Naples decided to allow entry to the Maschio Angioino (normally open from Monday to Saturday) also on Sundays starting next weekend (from 16 November 2014). The castle will be open for free every Sunday morning from 9 to 14, with free access to the courtyard, the Chapel of Santa Barbara, the rooms of the Barons, the Armories, the Loggia.

The councilor for culture and tourism Nino Daniele comments with satisfaction on the initiative: “The flow of tourists in our city is always growing; it was necessary and necessary to accommodate the requests of visitors who wish to admire the spaces of the most representative castle of our city and the stratifications that characterize it even on Sunday. In the meantime, the refurbishment works of the wooden pier that gives access to the Maschio Angioino have been completed, which will be followed by other redevelopment interventions of our Angevin jewel.
