The Maschio Angioino lights up pink for the 2017 International Day against Homophobia in Naples.
Il 17 May 2017 it is celebrated International Day Against Homophobia and also the Municipality of Naples will participate with some initiatives for the fight against discrimination. Among these, there is thesymbolic illumination of the Maschio Angioino in evenings of the 17 and 18 may, for which the Castel Nuovo it will be pink in support of LGBTQI communities facing harassment, violence and human rights violations.
The initiative was taken by the Department of Equal Opportunities and by the members of the "Permanent Table for Overcoming Discrimination Based on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity".

- 10:00 am: Council Chamber of the Municipality of Quarto - debate-conference on "Homophobic Bullying" with Councilor Ilaria Ascione, the Rita Levi Montalcini Higher Institute of Quarto, Arcigay Napoli, AGEDO, Centro Sinapsi and Dario Esposito (resident of Fourth victim of homophobic bullying). Moderator: Salvatore D'Agostino.
- 10: 00: ASU (University Students Association) with the Arcigay Youth Group Naples has promoted a day of awareness in the courtyard of the Department of Political Science, Federico II University.
- from 10:00: The LGBT Observatory of the Department of Social Sciences of the Federico II University will set up a stand on the day against homotransphobia in the courtyard of the Department of Social Sciences with teachers and students.
- from 10:00: in the Synapse Center of the Federico II University, an information and awareness point for students and teachers against homotransphobia at the Monte Sant'Angelo University.
- from 15:00: Organized by the LGBT Observatory, the public Seminar “What kind of sport” study day dedicated to gender discrimination and sexual orientation in Italian sport.
- 17 pm: in the Laterzagorà space of the Bellini theater (Via conte di Ruvo, 30) the book “Doppie Punte” by Michele Lamacchia will be presented. present the author, the journalist Ida Palisi and Claudio Finelli, Arcigay Culture Delegate.
- 20:00: in the FCS City Ground of Pomigliano D'Arco (Na), the GAYCS CUP, All the same, all different, soccer tournament against homophobia organized by GAYCS-AICS with the support of Arci Napoli, Arcigay Napoli , Pochos and Fervos (blood volunteer railway workers).

- from 10.00 to 14.00: The Synapse Center of the Federico II University will set up an information and awareness point for students and teachers against homotransphobia in the Department of Humanities, in via di Porta di Massa 1, with the students of the EP Fonseca Institute .
- 18.30 pm: Special Poet against Homotransphobia - Chiaja Hotel de Charme (via chiaia, 216), the book "Over 60" by Gianluca Polastri will be presented.
21st May
- 10: 45: project "Other Turism" of Arcigay Naples in collaboration with the LGBT Observatory organizes a guided tour of the City of Science for the 3D Body and Planetary Museum. Reservations required: altri.turismi@libero.it.
