They finally arrive good news on the realization of the metro line 10 in Naples because this important subway will see the light and will be a fundamental connection between the center of Naples and the Afragola high-speed station.
Funds from Cipess, the Interministerial Committee for Economic Planning and Sustainable Development, will be used for its realization, funds that will also be used for Line 6.
The government funding that will arrive is substantial: it has already been sent 334 million for the Carlo III - Di Vittorio section, a loan that is of historical significance. Then, there are resources for 7 trains with 37 million euros.
What are the 10 metro stations
It is a crucial line because it will unfold like this:
- Piazza Cavour;
- Foria-Botanical Garden;
- Charles III;
- Octalli;
- Leonard Bianchi;
- Di Vittorio - here is theimportant interchange with metro line 1;
- Casavatore-San Pietro;
- Casoria-Casavatore;
- Casoria Center;
- Casoria-Afragola;
- Afragola Garibaldi;
- Afragola Center;
- Afragola High Speed Station.
The importance of line 1 and its purposes
The metro line 10 will be of great use, therefore, because:
- first of all it will serve an area of the Neapolitan who at the moment it is served very badly;
- there will be connection with line 1, which is a fundamental service for travelers to Naples;
- will potentially allow around 150000 inhabitants of Naples and its province not to use the car, but to use rail transport;
- finally, indispensable the connection with the High Speed station of Afragola from which you can take the Naples-Bari line.
Driverless trains
The 37 million euros that will arrive for new ones 7 trains concern so-called driverless trains, that is, without a driver.
They will be led by a on-board computer, without the driver inside the driver's cab. A historical revolution for Naples that will be able to approach the great European cities in this way.
The synergy between institutions and companies
This project is possible from the collaboration between institutional subjects and public transport companies. Indeed:
- the Urban Sustainable Mobility Plan is foreseen in the PUMS of the Municipality of Naples;
- the implementing body will be EAV because it is a supra-municipal line;
- the technical-economic feasibility project was commissioned by the Campania Region.
For these reasons, the government sent substantial funding in a short time.
When Line 10 will be completed
