In Pompeii, the M'illumino di meno initiative starts for the Day of energy saving: the lights of the Archaeological Park will go out!

The Archaeological Park of Pompeii, as per tradition, it takes part in the initiative I illuminate myself less on the occasion of Day of energy saving and sustainable lifestyles, established in 2005 by Caterpillar - RaiRadio2.

I illuminate myself less invites the institutions and the main Italian and European monuments, as well as obviously also the citizens, to participate in this initiative against the waste of resources and thus promoting energy saving.

I am less enlightened in Pompeii

Then, Friday 26 March 2021 the Archaeological Park of Pompei, between 20:00 and 21:00, will take part in the initiative turning off the fourteen circuits for a few seconds that make up the entire lighting system of the ancient city.

The Archaeological Park of Pompeii has long since adopted a Green policy, by installing led lighting systems inside the excavations, which have allowed save up to 65% of the electric current and which obviously also protect the decorative elements from damage.

In other strategic points of the park they have been installed photovoltaic tiles, which as a result of exposure to solar radiation are able to produce electricity.

Radio Rai2 from 18:00 to 20:00 will follow live all extinguishing initiatives around Italy.
