Mural by Jorit for Fabrizio De Andrè: the great work in Scampia

Mural by Jorit dedicated to De Andrè

As part of the events of the May of the Monuments in Naples, the street artist Jorit, now well known, has decided to dedicate one of his new mural to the great Fabrizio De Andrè.

The works are already complete and the artwork is on facade of a building in Scampia, in via Labriola where the former inhabitants of the sails were transferred, not far from the Auditorium dedicated to Faber, affectionate nickname associated with De Andrè.

On the day of the inauguration she was also present Dori Ghezzi, historical companion of De Andrè and head of the Foundation that bears his name, which confirmed Faber's great love and bond with our Naples.

Jorit's work made with Trisha

The mural will be created by Jorit in collaboration with Trisha, one of local writers which has recently become famous also a international level for his works.

The idea of the two artists is to show the face of a taste, as De Andrè is considered, a man who with his songs, real poems, has always dedicated to the last ones, to the weakest, to the marginalized, speaking of rebirth.

"And which district deserves this more than Scampia rebirth?Jorit himself asks. In fact, the choice was well thought out and coherent.

De Andrè's link with Naples

As mentioned, Dori Ghezzi herself spoke of the deep bond between De Andrè and Naples. Her first girlfriend she was really Neapolitan.

He has also lived in our city for several years, also speaking Neapolitan and writing songs in our dialect, indeed in our language. Dori Ghezzi said that "Fabrizio is loved all over Italy, but perhaps nowhere like in Campania".

And it certainly has been and still is widely reciprocated.
