On 7 August 2016 the museums of Naples will be free and the day will be dedicated to the figurative representation of sport!
Sunday August 7 2016 i museums will free in Naples, thanks to the initiative of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage "DomencalMuseo".
Like every first Sunday of the month, admission to state sites will be free and you can visit, in addition to museums, even historic buildings, Archaeological excavations, parks and gardens monumental.
This event will be dedicated to figurative representation of sport, considering that the Olympics will be held in Rio in August. In this way we want to pay homage to competitive spirit and sporting activities in all their forms through works of art found in museum collections. Above all, it will be an opportunity to discover the less famous ones.
In Naples, in particular, the painting by Guido Reni su Atlas and Hippomenes at the Capodimonte Museum, the painting by Antonio Joli "The ball game in a bracelet" in the Certosa di San Martino and the statues of Runners at the National Museum.
