The exhibition of the Capodimonte Museum dedicated to the Neapolitan '600 is enriched with unpublished paintings from the deposits!
The collection of the second floor of the Museum of Capodimonte it will be enriched with other precious paintings until February 12 2017.
These are works of the Neapolitan '600 that will be exhibited in the "Gallery of the arts in Naples from' 200 to '700" and that they come from deposits of the Museum. Some are unpublished or recently restored.
These canvases integrate the existing collection since some paintings, specifically 19, are currently on loan to the Wiesbaden Museum for the exhibition Caravaggios Erben - Barock in Neapel (Caravaggio's heirs - The Baroque in Naples). It is one of the many initiatives designed to establish collaborations also abroad and spread Neapolitan painting of the '600.
The current exhibition, therefore, proposes both works selected by the Gallery of Arts on the second floor and the paintings from the deposits. Many important paintings are shown to the public and, among many, there are "Judith and Holofernes"By Artemisia Gentileschi," Santa Cecilia in ecstasy "by Bernardo Cavallino," The school teacher "by Aniello Falcone," San Carlo Borromeo "by Carlo Sellitto," Flight into Egypt "by Battistello Caracciolo,"Battle of the Amazons”By Luca Giordano.
Instead, the unpublished paintings that come from the deposits and which integrate the collection are the following.
