Snow in Sorrento and Positano, the two white towns in the night

In the last few hours, temperatures in Campania have dropped dramatically, and low-altitude snowfall has occurred in some parts of the region. This is what happened in Positano and Sorrento , two towns on the Amalfi and Sorrento coasts that were blanketed in snow overnight —a truly exceptional event.

Residents and tourists of the town on the Sorrento peninsula were amazed by the beautiful sight they found themselves admiring after waking up. Indeed, during the night, snow covered Piazza Tasso and the main street with a soft white blanket , creating a truly postcard-perfect scene.

Numerous photos and videos were posted on social media to immortalize the moment, and the footage was also broadcast on Tg3. Weather forecasts predicted cold temperatures for the next few days , meaning Carnival 2022 will be celebrated under the snow.

In fact, a series of street events dedicated to children have been organized specifically for Carnival , which will take place between Sunday, February 27th and Shrove Tuesday, March 1st, 2022.
