The country must step up anti-covid measures given the arrival of the new wave of infections. Each region is also applying its own new regulations and De Luca he does not miss the appeal with his hard fist. This time his decision makes her tremble especially movida and those who thought they would spend an “almost” normal Christmas, but let's deepen the subject.

The new system

The new system will go into effect from Thursday 23 December 2021 until 1 January 2022 e will prohibit the consumption of any food on the street, except for water. This means that it will not be possible to sip drinks or eat food (such as street food, for example) in the streets of the city.

The official system mentions the following:

"For the entire day it is forbidden to consume food and beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, with the exception of water, in public areas, including the spaces in front of shops, squares, villas and municipal parks . Consumption at outdoor tables is allowed, in compliance with the distance provided; "

Why it was applied

For many it might seem an excessive measure, but De Luca has repeatedly explained the goal of keeping the spread of the epidemic under control. It therefore seems clear to us that its purpose is that of counter the tide of gatherings, completely uncontrolled, in the main streets and streets of the Neapolitan nightlife. We remember, in fact, that in Naples on Christmas Eve there is also the seeds which invites citizens to toast Christmas with aperitifs and toasts in the street before returning home. De Luca, therefore, wants suppress such a tradition for protect health of the region it governs.

The other new bans

De Luca not only blocks the consumption of drinks and food on the street, but confirms and inserts new strict provisions:

  • Public events prohibited in outdoor public places: therefore no events, parties or other manifestations that could give rise to gathering phenomena.
  • Obligation to wear a mask even outdoors, in any place that is not isolated. Hence, in urban centers, squares, promenades, markets and so on.
  • Stop of sale with take away of drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) with the exception of water on 23, 24, 25, 31 December 2021 and 1 January 2022 from 11 am to 5 am the next day.
  • Municipality and law enforcement agencies will have to apply strict provisions. As close public areas where anti-covid measures cannot be controlled or where interpersonal safety distances cannot be respected. In addition, municipalities were recommended to intensify supervision and controls especially in the areas dedicated to Movida.
