At the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro the exhibition on "Gold, silver, gems and enamels of Angevin Naples" as part of the Forum delle Culture 2014

The exhibition Gold, silver, gems and enamels of the Angevin Naples - 1266-1381 is one of the most important exhibitions included in the calendar of events of the Universal Forum of the Cultures of Naples.
It will take place within the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro from 12 October to 31 December 2014 and will contain all the most valuable treasures of Angevin Naples in a single collection.

It will be possible to admire everyone the most important metal artifacts of the so-called "golden age" of the artistic, civil, political and cultural history of our city. These are the years in which Naples, under the Anjou dynasty, became a real capital, one of the most populous cities in Europe and the vital center of artistic and literary production.

The exhibition will include some truly unique pieces and, perhaps because of their uniqueness, will be collected together only for this rare occasion.
The will be exposed Gigliata cross donated by Charles II to the Basilica of San Nicola di Bari, the miter with pearls and with enamels of Scala and Amalfi; the pastoral of Atri and Sorrento and the gold capsule in the shape of a vine leaf today at the Museo di Cividale. Next to these precious objects, we will find them Tuscan goldsmiths commissioned in the 1317 for the canonization of San Ludovico, for example the Santa Vittoria in Matenano, the secular box with Angevin crests and naturalistic decorations by Todi and seals of the various rulers of Naples. In addition, there will be the reliquaries of Santo Stefano and San Ludovico, today in Capri and the Louvre, made by the Tuscan goldsmiths Pietro di Simone and Lando di Pietro.

A truly unique exhibition of its kind, which will fascinate us for the refinement and the luxury of the exhibited objects, jewels that will allow us a dip in the height of Naples, agioina.
