The love of the emperor Octavian Augustus for Campania in an unpublished exhibition at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples!

Among the many events in and around Naples, to highlight is the beautiful exhibition “Augusto and Campania. From Ottaviano to Divo Augusto. 14-2014 AD ”which has been on display in the rooms of the National Archaeological Museum since 19 December 2014 (MANN).

The initiative, set up on the occasion of the 2000 years since the death of the famous emperor, will be visible until May 5 2015.

The representation, financed by the Campania Region, is a clear testimony of the love and the deep bond on the part of the Divine Augustus towards the Campania region.

About 100 works among statues, Pompeian plasters, marble slabs, vintage objects and marble vases, including the famous "Crater of Gaeta", are available to the public Neapolitan who will be intrigued at the same time by projections and documentaries related to the main stages that marked the life of the great protagonist of the MANN.

From the prestigious exhibits on display transpire all the experiences lived by Ottaviano Augusto, all the places visited and deeply loved as Naples, the Campi Flegrei, Pozzuoli, Ercolano, Pompeii, Cumae and Pausilypon. Cities that accompanied the emperor in the ascent to power and also in his passing, which took place in Nola in 14 AD

A large collection in the spotlight of the city. A collection Unpublished belonging to the National Museum, the Diocesan Museum of Capua and the Study Center Ignazio Cerio, a precious heritage never shown before. An opportunity not to be missed.
