Petitoblok show scene at the Piccolo Bellini theater in Naples

At the Piccolo Bellini theater the show "Petitoblok" is staged, which blends the figure of Pulcinella with the traditional Russian mask theater

Petitoblok, the shanty of charlatan death is a show that creates a fusion between two extravagant figures and in their own way "typical" of two different traditions: Antonio Petito e Aleksandr Blok. On stage at the theater Little Bellini 14 from January to 19 2014.

In an atmosphere halfway between the fable and the farce we witness the tragicomic misfortunes of Antonio Petito, also called Totonno O 'Pazzo, the greatest interpreter of Pulcinella of the second half of the nineteenth century, which "dialogues" with the text of the Russian poet Aleksandr Blok, Balagancik (The booth of acrobats) which Mejerchol'd staged and which inspired Stravinsky and Diaghilev si for the famous ballet Petrushka.

And so we are witnessing a series of curtains and comic situations on the edge of the surreal of the two protagonists of the farcical show, the two masks / puppets Pulcinella and Felice Sciosciammocca, on the run from an unlikely and desperate Death Lady. An eccentric Charlatan, a former Neapolitan comedian in exile in the avant-garde theaters of St. Petersburg, is on their trail, in order to erase them from the world of theater. The story takes place inside the hut of the acrobats, where they are accompanied by a candid and courageous Colombina "mechanical puppet".
