The piano arrives in the streets, in historic places and in Neapolitan homes with the great Piano City Napoli 2016 festival!
After the success of past appointments, Plan City Napoli 2016 come back richer than ever 13 from October to 16. The numbers speak clearly: about 400 pianists, 200 events and 60 house concerts will make the fourth edition of the festival unforgettable.
Once again the streets, monuments and houses of the Neapolitans will be invaded by music of all kinds. There will be something “for all ears”, with a selection that ranges from rock to classical, from pop to jazz.
The novelty that characterizes the event is that of concerts in private lounges of Neapolitan citizens, who open their doors to the public for the occasion. Also historical places of the city host the musical meetings: among others, we remember the Colonnade of Piazza del Plebiscito, Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano, the Scala di Montesanto and the Galleria Umberto I. Piano City Napoli is also organizing a musical marathon that will see the protagonists student-pianists of the Federico II University.
The festival was born from an idea of the German pianist Andreas Kern, who gave life to it in Berlin in October 2010. An extraordinary success was also achieved by the Milanese edition, which has been a regular appointment since 2012. Since 2013, Naples has addition to these cities capitals of music, with an event that spreads art without discrimination of style, age or place.
