Il Terzo Paradiso di Pistoletto: a work in the Quartieri Spagnoli of Naples

Michelangelo Pistoletto, one of the most loved and known contemporary artists in the world and one of the greatest exponents of the poor art, he chose Naples and one of its most characteristic neighborhoods to make and donate his work Third Paradise. This installation will then be exposed permanently at the headquarters of the FOQUS foundation together with two other important Italian artists: Mimmo Paladino (from Christmas 2016) and Umberto Manzo (from March 2017).

Third Paradise è a work of collective participation which is part of a more complex artistic project entitled Rebirth (rebirth) / Third Paradise, which was installed for the first time in the 2005 at the Venice Biennale and since then has been realized from time to time in different ways in the main cities of the world: from Moscow to Atlanta, from Minsk to Milan, Paris, Brussels, Geneva (at the United Nations headquarters) and in the main cities where i sustainability issues and regeneration.

Pistoletto's choice to install his new one Third Paradise in Spanish Quarters of Naples it is therefore understandable, as its artistic project is in line with that of regeneration and rebirth conducted by the FOQUS non-profit foundation.

A giant mirror on which anyone can leave his trail

At the center of the FOQUS Foundation's courtyard was placed a large mirror, with dimensions of 3,60 × 2,40 meters, on which is depicted a silhouette of the now famous symbol of infinity, a distinctive sign of the artist. On this mirror anyone can write or leave his signature with indelible markers.
