The pier

The wharf of Bagnoli was built in 1962 to allow theberthing of ships feedstock of the raw materials useful to the Italsider steel plant, then closed in 1993.

Renovated by Bagnoli Futura company for the urban redevelopment of the area and on the project of thearchitect Luigi Lopez, was inaugurated in the 2005.

The structure, long 900 mt, offers a splendid view of the Gulf of Pozzuoli, the islands of Procida and Ischia, Capo Miseno and the islet of Nisida and lends itself to the practice of jogging as well as relaxing walks near the sea.

At the beginning of the quay, on the right, there is a work by sculptor Giancarlo Neri representing a totem, nicknamed "Pasqualone", entirely made of waste materials from the former steel mill.

For May 2017 is expected a program of suggestive musical events at sunset.
