A great party to pay homage to Casatiello, traditional and culinary symbol of Campania
Dat 19 at 21 on June 2015 will host the Festival of the Casatiello 2015 a Sant'Arpino, in the province of Caserta.
Il Casatiello, typical rustic Campania, came prepared already in the pre-Christian era to celebrate the arrival of the mild season with a ritual outing, a habit that took place in the following centuries also the Atellans.
It was one of those special loaves offered as a sacrifice to the gods on the occasion of propitiatory parties, in particular to guarantee a fruitful harvest.
Its genuine and simple ingredients symbolize the rebirth of nature and spirit: eggs, wheat, and cheese. Just "caseus", a dialectal name for cheese, seems to be the etymology of the word Casatiello.
For Sant'Arpino, the Casatiello represents an important centuries-old tradition, which is why it is celebrated every year with a festival that attracts many visitors and is enriched by various types of events that entertain the public.
There will be food and wine stands, of course, and also entertainment for children, zumba shows, modern dance, fitness, photo exhibitions, country music, dancing, visits and much more.
