At the chestnut festival of Arpaise many good dishes based on chestnuts and a program full of visits, shows and excursions
The municipality of Arpaise, in the province of Benevento, organizes its traditional chestnut festival and he will do it on 11 and 12 October 2014.
The party has now become a real tradition for the place, so much so that it has reached its twentieth edition and to get a decent success in terms of visitors each time.
As the name clearly suggests, the festival will be entirely dedicated to chestnuts and the many ways of cooking and presenting them. Typical fruit abundant in those areas and which will begin to come out in October, the chestnut will be processed by the skilled hands of restaurateurs of the place that will be able to insert it in many different menus.
In addition to exquisite first and second courses, the Arpaise cooks will also prepare traditional desserts and serve everything accompanied with good Local wine. You can taste them penne with chestnut saucegrilled meats and sausages and chestnuts prepared according to ancient local traditions: arrustute, varole, valleni, he read and n'furnate.
The festival, however, is not limited to tasting excellent dishes and drinks, but will be enriched by a full program of guided tours, exhibitions, musical performances and the poetry contest "La castagna d'oro".
