The village of Roccamonfina hosts the awaited Chestnut and Porcini Mushroom Festival 2017: traditional sweet and savory specialties for everyone!
To the delight of gourmets, the golden period of festivals does not end with the summer, as the many events coming to Campania demonstrate. Among these stands out the Chestnut festival and 2017 porcini mushroom in Roccamonfina, which will delight visitors every weekend from 7 to 29 October.
Thanks to the delicious combination of the two products, the appointment will not disappoint anyone. You can taste the best traditional local products, with both sweet and savory specialties. In addition to the inevitable roasted chestnuts, there will be dishes like the bean soup, chestnuts and porcini mushrooms and the castagnaccio, a typical dessert of the area.
Roccamonfina is a mountain village of the upper Caserta area, characteristic for its position inside the ancient and homonymous volcano. Part of the Regional Park of Roccamonfina and Foce del Garigliano, the municipal territory is rich in chestnut woods. The program is being defined, and will be published as soon as it is complete.
