There are just under two weeks left for Sanremo 2023, but while waiting to see their performances on stage, the journalists were able to preview the songs that will be presented at the Festival. Well done Madame and Marco Mengoni, Article 31 rejected without the possibility of appeal.

Sometimes reform “old glories” rather than focus on new singers loved or rediscovered by the public, as Antonino Spadaccino or Paolo Vallesi, can be very counterproductive.

Today Tuesday 17 January 2023, just under two weeks from the start of the singing festival, Amadeus made journalists listen to all the songs of Sanremo 2023.

Well, but not great since, next to full marks promotions, such as those received for example from Marco Mengoni e Mrs., there have also been some sound failures and without the possibility of appeal. Like that of the Article 31, which after splitting more than twenty years ago, for the "occasion" have been reformed since artistic director.

Sanremo 2023, Elodie also receives praise, a "cold" reaction in front of the song by Anna Oxa

Also Elodie, like Mengoni and Madame, managed to convince the press room, while Anna Oxa, unlike other editions of the Festival in which she played the role of the lioness, was greeted in a "cold" way and her song was also judged "very risky" for the Ariston stage.

Ram it was judged "not catchy". Very well instead Colapesce Dimartino, who present themselves with a hyper-reflective song, but which, according to journalists, has all the potential to work.

I Glue Uncle, the first of the young people to have been heard, promise fun and involvement. Speaking instead of Coma_Things, their track was hailed as the best of Sanremo 2023, even if it looks too much like another song released in the past.

Eyes on Conjure, who after having “given away” a questionable performance with irama last year (he went on stage at the Ariston with all possible and imaginable substances in his body), it seems that now he wants to redeem himself and he does performing a rock ballad with a very powerful instrumental part.

Gianmaria "might like it", Giorgia turns out to be a partial disappointment

Let's move on now JAMARIA, winner of Sanremo Youth 2022: for the media his song "might like it". Disappointment (albeit partial) for Giorgia, which does not convince the press: expectations were very high and apparently they were not met.

discreet vote for The Countryside Cousins, who offer a piece written and set to music for them by The List Representative. Lazza instead it convinces for the black novelties in the arrangement, while unfortunately LDA, the only Neapolitan in the race, receives a resounding rejection like the Article 31.

For the press he could have dared more instead of falling back on a romantic ballad of two hearts and a beach. Little enthusiasm even for Leo Gassman, even if the song, itself, works.

Get the Funds! comes up with a piece that could give rise to some misunderstanding and unclear in the text. As for i Fashion, sound rejection for them too: the melodic pop rock is beautiful, but the sensation is a déjà vu.

Mara Sattei and the unknown signed by Damiano dei Maneskin

Mara Sattei is one of the novelties of Sanremo 2023, but his piece, written and set to music by Damian of the Maneskins, is a bit 'too didactic. Although already, he manages to get an "almost good" grade thanks to the power of his voice.

Unfortunately for Mr. Rain, highly anticipated, but whose song is judged "trivial and without momentum". It's a little better at Olly, which is defined as "vaguely cheerful", while the song by Paola&Chiara she managed to get the journalists present in the press room to do some dancing.

Pink Chemical instead, while not getting a very high mark like Mengoni, he is judged "to be heard": his piece contains not only several references to gender fluid, but also clearly states:

“I want to die as an Italian”

As if to say: "Even if many consider me different, I'm an Italian like you."

Sethu and Shari, both promoted, but without infamy and without praise

Sethu e Shari, also arrived from the large factory of Sanremo Youth 2022, they get promoted easily, but without infamy and without praise. The song of Shari, signed by Psalmbut it is considered more interesting.

Not so for Tananai, which with its romantic and melodic ballad, but without flashes, risks placing itself in the middle of the standings (if not at the bottom).

Ultimo it presents itself with a tormented classic sung beautifully, accompanied on the piano, but which in itself does not bring novelty. Definitely “sni” for Will, whose song could be liked, but also be a bit trivial.

Sanremo 2023, the votes after the first listening: our thoughts

The media, as we know, have rarely been "soft" with i songs from Sanremo, especially after the first listen, but overall, this year they were less strict than in other years.

Leaving aside the numerous fair grades, the pass marks, the "almost good" and the various failings, it is possible that, among the big names, those who will gamble for the win will be Marco Mengoni, Mrs., Elodie, Pink Chemical, Coma_Things, Colapesce Dimartino and maybe, Conjure e Mara Sattei.

Among young people, on the other hand, it is not excluded that they may be at stake JAMARIA e Shari, given that, among all the pieces presented by the young people, theirs were considered the best. Although, of course, the times when Francesco Gabbani he proposed a fantastic Amen (winning in the “New Proposals” category) are long gone.
