Friday November 18, 2022, all Italian school students will take to the streets to demonstrate against the structural deficiencies of our education system. In fact, students complain about an increasingly exclusive school based on competition, with structures that are not adequate.
In particular, here are their words addressed to the Minister of Education Valditara:
We take to the streets to forcefully claim i 5 pillars for the reconstruction of the public school. We no longer accept that our proposals and requests are ignored by politics.
Where the procession takes place in Naples
The appointment of the Neapolitan students is in Piazza Garibaldi on 18 November at 10.00. It is a regional procession that will bring to light the requests that students now want to bring to the knowledge of everyone, especially the institutions.
The route that the procession will take is not known, it could remain in the square or even move to Corso Garibaldi or Corso Umberto I, the wider neighboring roads generally traveled by the court.
Road and traffic problems
The demonstrations, above all very popular as this promises to be, generally provoke traffic problems because they could hinder and slow down cars and other vehicles.
So, even on November 18 the traffic could be heavier and it could be difficult to get around the area.
What are the students' requests
Students will take to the streets, together with social and student organizations, to demonstrate and to ensure that their requests are accepted, all for a better future. In particular they want to reclaim i 5 pillars that are the basis of a good public schoolThese are:
- A national law on the right to study
- The abolition of the PCTOs, Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation, and of the Forms of School-Work Alternation in favor of integrated education.
- Greater representation, participation and student protagonism
- Investments in construction, psychological help desks and Career Alias in all schools
- A new statute of student rights
