European Week of Sustainable Mobility 2015 in Naples: all the initiatives in the city

Naples also joins the European Week of Sustainable Mobility with many events in the city!

The Municipality of Naples has joined the European Sustainable Mobility Week 2015, as it does every year. It will take place from September 16 to 22, 2015 , and will be held in conjunction with another initiative promoted by the European Commission, also dedicated to sustainable urban transport, entitled "Do The Right Mix."

The objectives of this edition will be to promote activities that can be carried out throughout the year and to create a single, large web platform aimed at promoting sustainable urban mobility in Europe.

The slogan of the event is "Choose. Change. Combine ", that is, “Choose. Change. Combina "and that will try to raise awareness among European citizens, therefore also those of Naples, in adopting those modes of urban movement that involve less waste of time and money.
They will be proposed events and initiatives throughout Naples.

Sustainable Mobility Week Program

Metro Art Tour, free educational tours

On this occasion, the Metro Art Tour will take you to discover the new stations of Line 1 of the Museo, Municipio, Toledo and Università metro through two free educational visits.

• Stations Museum and Town Hall

Bike to Work Contest

Until September 18, 2015, Bike Sharing Napoli users can enter a photo contest and submit a photo via email riding a Bike Sharing Napoli bike with their work tool (e.g., a traffic warden with their shovel), leaving a comment about the benefits of cycling to work. The photos will be published on Bike Sharing Napoli's social media channels. Five photos will be selected from the participants , and the winners will receive fun gifts.

Visit to the Scudillo drinking water tank

Saturday 19 September 2015, will be the opportunity to go to the discovery of the secrets ofaqueduct of Naples through a educational path divided into thematic areas. It will be reached by bike and a picnic in an outdoor area for a packed lunch (to which everyone will provide independently). After, the ride will resume but this time on the streets of the Vomero. The itinerary also includes a visit to theurban garden of Scudillo.
One will be offered to the participants water bottle in steel with the vignette by Riccardo Marassi dedicated to the relationship between water and bike.

Intermodal Bike Tour

The Scampia Bike Tour , offered by Spaccanapolibike, aims to explore the social and economic progress made possible by the dedication of its citizens. Visits include the Corto Maltese Park, the Arci Scampia sports center , the Mammut Territorial Center, and the Villa Comunale di Scampia . The tour will continue to the Gridas Social Center, where FeliMetrò will be presented. Food tastings will be offered at the ChiKù restaurant. Photographs will be taken during the Bike Tour and published in an album dedicated to Neapolitan Urban Cycling.

I Bike Naples, bike sightseeing tour

I Bike Naples is a project aimed at exploring and discovering the artistic and natural beauty of Naples on two wheels , while respecting the environment. With a guide (Italian or English), you can explore the city on a tour lasting approximately three hours.

Green Days

Green Days includes the setting up of traveling exhibitions , such as information points and exhibition stands along the city's main shopping streets , by associations, companies, and organizations involved in the sectors of fair trade, sustainable mobility, environmental protection, etc.

WWF Pedestrian Route

WWF Naples offers residents and tourists the opportunity to participate in a pedestrian itinerary entirely dedicated to the city's history and urban parks. The aim is to raise public awareness of walking and the discovery of its pedestrian paths and parks, while also promoting awareness of Naples' wonderful cultural heritage. The tour is open to ideas and suggestions from residents for improving pedestrian mobility and the associated safety of its residents.

The Vomero Commercio&Cultura association is offering refreshments and discounts on products and services for anyone who uses a bicycle as a means of transportation in the city. Participating merchants will be identified by the event poster displayed outside their businesses.
