Art, gastronomy and history at the theater show on Caravaggio at the Villa Comunale in Naples!
On 11 May 2016, at the Casina Pompeiana, located within the Villa Comunale of Naples, it will be held show "Caravaggio - True art comes from what you see" organized by the cultural associations "At the center of the arts", "Show rock", with "Unip" and "the tavern in Santa Chiara".
The representation will bring on stage the life and works of the artist Michelangelo Merisi, better known precisely as Caravaggio, , which revolutionized 16th century painting and transformed the city of Naples into the gravitational center of this change.
The opening of the show will be entrusted to the historian Guido D'Agostino, who will illustrate us the history of Naples between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries while Nives Monda will tell us about the Neapolitan way of eating at the time of Caravaggio, based above all on fish dishes and vegetables with dried fruit.
The painter himself will act as a narrative voice, accompanied by the jester Rac Contino who will narrate i facts and dishes of the time. A theatrical path between art, gastronomy and Neapolitan tradition through which we will know new aspects of our culture.
