Villa Comunale di Napoli: the new Sea Museum of the Dohrn Zoological Station
The new Sea Museum of the Dohrn Zoology Station is born in the beautiful Villa Comunale of Naples!
In the premises of the former press club in Naples, or the Casina del boschetto in the Municipal villa of Naples, work is currently underway on the structure that will host the Darwin Museum - Dohrn (DaDoM) , library of the sea.
This project was made possible thanks to the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station, or the scientific institution of international importance, which once taken possession of the structure now abandoned for years, proceeded with its retraining to create this wonderful museum that will be dedicated to the sea and biodiversity.
The Darwin - Dohrn Museum in Naples
The works for the brand new Darwin - Dohrn Museum in Naples are almost finished and soon the structure will be open to the public who will therefore have one space dedicated to science and biology.
In particular, a large space will be dedicated to Marine biology with a beautiful gallery of biodiversity and a historical archive that holds precious documents from 1872, or the year of the foundation of the Zoological Station of Naples.
There will also be many inside the museum spaces dedicated to the little ones, places for conferences and exhibitions, as well as a large exhibition space where they can be admired tools and boats used in marine research.
Then there will be Evolution room where you will find fossils and where the geological eras will be explained, the Hall of Time, the room of Adaptations from the aquatic world to other habitats and the Hall of history and present.
