Falling stars in Naples, events for the night of San Lorenzo
The 10 August 2015, for the night of San Lorenzo, also in Naples and in Campania special events to experience the Night of the Falling Stars!
In a few days we will finally be able to admire the night sky with our nose upwards and wait for the stars to fall, to express, as usual, our wishes.
Monday August 10 it will, in fact, be the Night of San Lorenzo, known throughout the world as "the night of the shooting stars", when the sky offers a unique and evocative show, whose protagonists are the "Perseids", also known as "tears of San Lorenzo", ie asteroids-meteorites that come from the constellation of Perseus and that leave light trails in the sky from late July until about 20 August, with a peak that is concentrated around 10 August.
Also in Naples and Campania, of course, it will be possible to admire the wonderful starry sky and, for the occasion, special events have been organized to accompany the shooting stars evening, in some strategic and poorly lit places to enjoy the show.

The appointment for wine enthusiasts who will be able is back taste wine and toast to the night of San Lorenzo admiring the spectacle of falling stars from the most suggestive wine cellars of Campania.
The event is organized by the Wine Tourism Movement with the collaboration of the Associazione Nazionale Città del Vino and foresees the participation, in our region, of four cellars: the Cantina Di Solopaca (BN), La Guardiense in Guardia Sanframondi, as part of the event Vinalia, food and wine review now in its 22nd edition; Tommasone Vini in Lacco Ameno (Ischia); Tenuta Cavalier Pepe in Sant'Angelo all'Esca (AV), with a gala evening with the “Menu delle stelle”.

The sky seen from Vesuvius
For the more daring and adventurous, the Cooperative Sire in collaboration with Umberto Massimiliano Saetta, exclusive guide of the Vesuvius Park, will organize a nature walk under the stars, on the occasion of the Night of San Lorenzo, to discover the paths and panoramas under the stars. breathtaking view of the Neapolitan volcano.
Immersed in a surreal dimension, the participants in the excursion will be able to admire, at the same time, the city of Naples, from an unprecedented point of view, that is from the crater, and do so in the light of the stars and the special summer meteor shower. At the end of the walk, participants will be able to stop for a packed breakfast and lie down to admire the starry sky, accompanying the moment with a tasting of Vesuvian grappa.

The Night of the Stars on Mount Faito
The appointment with the shooting stars organized by Astracampania and the Belvedere Bar of Monte Faito is repeated. On Monday 10 August 2015 from 20 pm at the belvedere in Piazzale dei Capi 30, Monte Faito, Vico Equense (Na), a public evening will be held with observations of the "perseids", the shooting stars of San Lorenzo, the nebulae and the clusters of the Milky Way, the planet Saturn and the wonderful stars of the summer sky. Telescope observations are also scheduled with AstroCampania experts who will guide the participants during the observations.

Mandolins under the stars in Piazza del Plebisicito
The appointment with the Night of Falling Stars is repeated in Piazza del Plebiscito with the musical initiative Mandolins under the stars. Monday 10 August starting from 22: 30 the square will once again be enlivened by the sweet sound of mandolins, which will perform the most beautiful music of the Neapolitan musical tradition. From 24:00 the lights of the square will be turned off, to let those present admire the wonderful show of shooting stars.
