Il National Archaeological Museum of Naples, from 12 December 2014 to 6 January 2015, will host the photographic exhibition published in Buchner Boxes organized and installed by the artist Luigi Spina.

On display, 28 black and white photographs scrupulously mounted on minimalist and suitably illuminated structures. Subjects and set-up under review will be a symbol of messages and themes inspired by time and human aspirations.

Specifically, in the foreground there will be the original wooden boxes built and filled in Ischia, over fifty years of work and excavations, by the archaeologist Giorgio Buchner. Cassettes containing the remains of teeth, bones, tools and personal belongings belonging to an ancient and prestigious civilization, that of Ischia, the first Greek colony of the West.

The representations in question will not show a simple collection of archaeological finds, but they will be metaphor of time, of the evolution of society, effectively represented by the many modern objects wisely inserted among the reports, by the same researcher.

Real historical-artistic works, for too long remained in the darkness of the island archives and that will come back to life thanks to the photographic masterpieces of Luigi Spina.

Therefore, on display, there will be the lives, aspirations, dreams and desires of men and women of three thousand years ago in direct comparison with those of recent eras. In common, the desire for knowledge and going further, as well represents the lighted bulb on each photograph on display.
