Toni Servillo will read 13 pieces by Benedetto Croce at the Bellini Theater in Naples to tell more about the man than the philosopher!

The celebrations of 150th anniversary of the birth of Benedetto Croce and they will do it with a great artist of the Neapolitan theater scene: Toni Servillo. After the great success of his “Elvira” at the Bellini Theater, Servillo will walk the stage of the same theater for one last evening give the philosopher a voice, historian, politician and writer from Abruzzo.

The events that took place in recent weeks have celebrated above all the philosopher and the politician, while Servillo will try to tell us about the man, with a special reading on Monday 6 February 2017. At the Bellini Theater he will read 13 excerpts from some autobiographical pages by Benedetto Croce and the texts were chosen by Professor Giuseppe Galasso and make an excursus on his whole life, from childhood to preparation for death, passing through civil and political commitment and philosophical activity.

Benedetta Craveri, nephew of Croce and a member of the Board of Directors of the Fondazione Benedetto Croce Foundation, said she was very proud of the choice she made on Servillo, who will masterfully give life to the pieces that are the subject of the readings.

The entrance will be free subject to availability.
