The Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Enrico Giovannini sent a document with transport guidelines to the Scientific Technical Committee to define the rules to be followed in this pandemic period.

Among them is the presence of the controller on board public transport and on the ground to check both tickets of passengers, both fair application of anti-Covid rules. The controller will have to ensure that the capacity on board is effectively a maximum of 80%, possibly blocking the boarding of excess passengers to avoid overcrowding, respecting interpersonal distancing and wearing a mask.

There are no final decisions yet since the opinion of the Cts will have to be awaited and the unions are against this proposal because the controllers should be trained differently and should not have "anti-virus functions". The debate, therefore, is still ongoing.

The debate on the Green Pass

As for the sensitive issue on the Green Pass, there is also no unanimity since the issue is complex.

Meanwhile, according to the latest decree, the Green Pass is mandatory for some means of transport, but not for local ones such as bus and metro.
