Ema approves Johnson & Johnson's Covid19 vaccine: it can be marketed and is the first single-dose.

Good news from the vaccine front as theEma,European Medicines Agency, recommended theauthorization to market the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in the European Union.

Janssen, this is the name of the vaccine anti covid19 manufactured by the US pharmaceutical company, it can be given to adults from 18 years old and the placing on the market is conditional.

This was written by the EMA in an official statement, concluding that currently the data on this vaccine are very solid and reliable and meet the criteria of efficacy, quality and safety. The evaluation was made by the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (the CHMP), part of the EMA.

Therefore, the Janssen vaccine is currently the fourth authorized in the EU, after Pfizer-Biontech, Moderna and Astrazeneca and is the first single-dose. It means that it must not be administered via two injections at a certain time apart from each other, but only one injection is sufficient for it to have the maximum expected effectiveness.
