An evocative video art project on the columns of the Temple of Neptune in Paestum!
From 21 to 31 December 2016 to Paestum we can admire a beautiful project of video art serale on the facades and columns of the temple of Neptune. This is a video mapping projected on the Temple and the aim of the initiative is to highlight these places through something that makes them see from a different angle and that arouses curiosity, involvement and emotions in visitors.
The project is called Arché and it was created by the artist Alessandra Franco who will use the video-mapping method to project, on the west facade of the temple, his interpretation of the arch and the principle of Doric architecture.
To carry out this project will be used a projector from 30.000 ansi-lumen that will project a story which is inspired by the eighteenth-century reconstructions to try to go back, through the temples of Paestum, to the primordial hut. Every evening the lights of the temple will go out to make room for those of the projector that will tell the story history of the goddess Hera confined by the Greeks in this temple, the origins of architecture and human culture.
For the video-mapping curator this will be a fantastic experience that will involve all the senses. The facades and columns of the temple will lend themselves to making this event a real performance.
Salerno-Paestum shuttle
To reach Paestum there will be the Salerno-Paestum trains from 7:37 to 19:13 and a free “Paestum-Luci d'artista” shuttle that will leave from Piazza Mazzini in Salerno at 11:00.
