NarteA, the Neapolitan cultural association that deals with the promotion of the territory, for Saturday April 1 2023 starting from 19:30, arrange a new appointment with Lapis – Stories from the womb of Naples.

It will be a special visit at first Water museum with an unmissable theatrical visit that will allow guests to discover this special place located in submerged Naples. His story will be retraced with the ancient Greco-Roman cisterns enriched with lights and colors with suggestive streams, then there is the submerged Decumanus.

To make everything even more impressive will be some multimedia installations thanks to which guests will live a truly unforgettable experience.

The theatrical visit is organized by the Lapis Museum in collaboration with Febo Quercia, author of the plays. The visit will be followed by a aperitif with tasting of Greco di Tufo Docg from the Tenuta Cavalier Pepe winery.

The history of the Museum

In the special visit to the Lapis Museum, he will retrace the history of the latter, starting from the remains of the temple of Diana, up to the legend of the janare and the events of the Second World War and in search of the stone foundation of the Basilica.

In fact, the story tells that the foundation of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore is linked to an ancient popular legend, according to which, in the guise of a pig, the devil infested the ancient center.

Pomponio, following a dream in which the Madonna appeared to him, had the Basilica erected in the very place where a celestial cloth would have been found, under which there would have been a rock with a cross, the holy stone, later became an object of veneration.
