The deposits of the Archaeological Museum of Paestum open to the public showing ancient tombs and artifacts never exhibited to the public.
The initiative is back again this year "Fridays of deposits”Which will allow citizens and tourists to visit the undergrounds of the Archaeological Museum of Paestum to the discoveries of the beautiful finds preserved in the basement.
The visits have already started since 5 March and the 25 2017 will end, taking place every Friday. These are works that are not never exposed to the public, but which every year are put on display thanks to this initiative, through guided tours in both Italian and English.
We recall that since last summer i three Temples of Paestum can also be visited from the inside.
The visit to the warehouses
Among the hidden treasures that can be admired until the summer, there are hundreds of painted tombs from the 4th and 3rd centuries BC With the help of archeologists, restorers and technicians it will be possible to follow a generally closed path and enter the heart of the Museum, giving a hand to the work of enhancing the deposits in a scientific and popular way.
Hours and prices
The guided tours will take place only on Fridays, as mentioned and only in the morning, at the following times and prices.
Opening hours
The visits leave at 10.00, 12.00 and 14.00 by appointment at the Museum ticket office. It will last 40 minutes and is curated by the Catalog Office, restorers and assistants for use.
Pricing
To participate in the visits you will pay only 1 euro more compared to the admission price, but those who have a season ticket only pay the additional price:
