The Neapolitan archaeological group has organized special guided tours to the historic Baths of Agnano, in a nocturnal and diurnal version

For the weekend of 20 and 21 December, if you want to do something different, away from the chaos of the city, the Neapolitan archaeological group (GAN) has organized guided tours of the old Roman baths of Agnano.

Saturday December 20, visitors can relive the Roman setting of theat the feast of the god Saturn that fell right at the winter solstice. The party provided sumptuous banquets, games and the exchange of gifts, that is, gifts from acquaintances who toasted by reciting the propitiatory phrase "Me, me, bona Saturnalia"(" Cheers, cheers, good Saturnalia "). A sort of what will become the Christian Christmas.

After tasting the mulsum, which was the honey-flavored wine of the Romans, the participants will visit, armed with torches, the Hellenistic structures, the Roman thermal complex which was taken as an ideal model by the other spas, and finally the cave of the Dog, from which carbon gases escape, used for therapeutic purposes.

Sunday December 21, will be repeated the same path of the guided tour of Saturday but in day version and with a deepening on the history of Saturnalia.
