State Mint Coin
0: 00 / 0: 00

Great tribute to the Margherita pizza made by the State Mint, with a coin that celebrates Neapolitan food and wine.

La Mint of the State pays homage to Made in Italy: and in particular Pizza, the most famous of the symbols of the traditional Neapolitan cuisine, having a five euro coin in uncirculated version.

The coin

The splendid coin created by the engraver artist was issued on April 21, 2020 Maria Carmela Colaneri and it is part of Numismatic Collection 2020, of the series "Italian Food and Wine Culture-Pizza and Mozzarella".

With a circulation of 8.000 pieces, this coin depicts the Margherita pizza together with Pulcinella, Neapolitan symbols par excellence.

We therefore wanted recognition and a tribute to this Neapolitan dish and to the Italian and Neapolitan food and wine excellence.

The celebration of the #pizzaUnesco

This commemorative coin is a real tribute to the world campaign #pizzaUnesco of which he is the promoter Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio.

A recognition by theUnesco ofregistration of the Art of Neapolitan Pizzaiuolo in the list of Intangible cultural heritage of humanity, with which we wanted to focus on the origin of the real pizza, which now the world recognizes to be Neapolitan.

In fact, there are many across the globe imitations of this dish, revisited in many different ways.

This may be, as the same claims Pecoraro Scanio, an answer to those who have always offended the South and Naples with clichés like "pizza and mandolin".
