A new exhibition area on insects and invertebrates will be inaugurated at Città della Scienza in Naples!
From Sunday 4 March 2018 will open a City of Science of Naples one new exhibition area: Insects and Co. In this great exhibition exhibition, But especially Interactive, we will discover the secrets and mechanisms that regulate the world of these small and very numerous living beings but also gods spiders, scorpions and other invertebrates. A journey to learn what they eat, how they reproduce, where they live and how they contribute to maintaining stable ecosystems.
Details will be used as support giant models of mouths and other parts of insects, thypotheses of their food adaptations, while films and multimedia programs will present records among insects.
The exhibition path, which will have some different contents each week, is divided into six thematic islands.

The thematic islands
1 Island: A silent invasion
Face the relationship between insects and humans.
Some species are quickly extinguished because they do not find the conditions suitable for their survival, while others can become a threat for ecosystems, for agricultural and zootechnical activities, and in some cases for human health.
2 Island: All together
Here we deal with the theme of communication and collective behavior and how the development of sociality has greatly increased the potential of ants, wasps, bees.
Island 3: The Art of Deception
In this area space is given to the interactions between insects and the environment around them.
4 Island: How are we made?
A space dedicated to the anatomy of insects, the characteristics that distinguish them and the similarities and differences they have with other invertebrates, in anatomy and in physiology.
Island 5: But the insects ... do they fall in love?
In this island we will discover how insects reproduce, courtship techniques, life cycles and the stages of development of beneficial and harmful insects to humans.
6 Island: Predators lurking
In this section we will talk about scorpions, tarantulas, mantids and killing bugs, which will reveal their predatory techniques.
The laboratories
The exhibition area will be completed with workshops for children. They will not be missingeducational and recreational activities with the use of computer and technological tools to explain to children the environment in which we live and the reason for natural and scientific phenomena, also through games and creative writings, drawings, paintings and sculptures with clay.
