From 7 to 11 April 2023, City of Science offers a rich program of organisers' activities to celebrate Easter together, with workshops, games and demonstrations that combine science and fun.
Workshops for the little ones
For children aged 3 to 6, the workshop The hatching it will allow you to reproduce in an animated way the hatching of an egg using a simple clothespin. In the laboratory Easter hologram, on the other hand, the functioning of holograms and the construction of a projector will be explored, based on the holographic method devised by the Hungarian physicist Dennis Gabor. Finally, the spectacular science show Eggs for all tastes will surprise young and old with bouncy, floating and colorful eggs.
Discover pH and participate in European initiatives
THEinteractive lab “How sour are you?” will allow you to measure the pH of the most common substances using litmus paper. Furthermore, on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 April, it will be possible to participate in the European initiative “the Arch” to express his vision of the world in 2050 through a drawing, contributing to a large mural that will be exhibited in Nantes in June.
Easter Monday at Città della Scienza
On Monday 10 April, for Easter Monday, Città della Scienza will welcome visitors with a special day full of science and entertainment, including interactive workshops such as All the art around the egg! e The bee shop on the Easter table, and the spectacular science show Superhero Physics!. Do not miss an immersion in the world of insects with One, none, one hundred thousand…insects! and a final sweet surprise for all the children.
The detailed schedule of appointments
Here is the program of some of the activities organized in Città della Scienza for Easter 2023. The activities will take place on 7, 8, 9 and 11 April.
The Hatching
- 11 hours: 00 and 14 hours: 00 for children aged 3 to 6 an interactive laboratory in which they will reproduce the hatching of an egg with a clothespin
Easter hologram
- Ore 11:30 and 15:30 for children aged 10 to 13 a laboratory to understand how holograms work and how to build a projector in class starting from the Nobel prize awarded to the Hungarian physicist Dennis Gabor.
Egg for all tastes
- 12 hours: 30 open to all a science show with bouncing, floating and colored eggs.
How acidic are you?
- 10 hours: 30 and 14: 30 for children aged 7 to 10 an interactive laboratory to learn about the pH of the most common substances using litmus paper.
8 and 9 April
- Appointment with “The Arch” How do you see the world in 2050? Leave your message to Europe through your design with the aim of accelerating the ecological transition.
10 April
- Interactive laboratory All the art around the egg! Children can decorate the eggs according to tradition
- Laboratory The Bee Shop children will be able to discover bee products by making beautiful natural candles with the wax of these insects.
- Science Show Superhero Physics!
