One of the new projects of the Security Department of the Municipality of Naples concerns the installation of video cameras on the cars of the Local Police in order to be able to monitor even better cars that are not parked.

In this way, even more can be done fines when necessary and the sanctions will be made directly automatically.

An even more effective way to streamline traffic from double or even third row cars and to eliminate obstacles caused by no-parking cars.

How cameras work

According to the announced project, the cameras will be able to make about 200 or 250 fines each and this for each shift of the Local Police.

Currently they are used only on an experimental basis with white helmets and are in 4 police cars. The aim is to intensify the service and ensure that at least one car from each of the 10 Municipalities of Naples has one.

In total it would come to 10 cameras.

The experimentation continues at Vomero

In addition to the 4 experimental cameras already active, the idea is that of to continue this experimentation also in Vomero. In fact, some brigade cars will be installed and this system will help in the management of traffic and fines also because many brigades have retired and the staff has been reduced.

Il camera work will certainly be much more productive and when the system is regular and non-experimental, things will certainly change for the better.

The Car System and the Targa System

This system, as mentioned, has been experimenting for a while, in fact we talked about in our article earlier. The Car System and Targa System on a local police car.

The Car System works like this:

  • the camera is located on the car;
  • it is connected to a computerized system that checks parking restrictions;
  • check the regular insurance coverage on the vehicle and the regular periodic review.

Instead the Targa System:

  • allows you to read the number plates of no-parking vehicles
  • the camera records off-parked or double-rowed cars;
  • the traffic policeman selects the shots and sends the right ones to the office to draw up the fine and send it to the driver.
