This evening, Friday November 17 2017, will be staged in the Bonadies house a arcade, the theatrical monologue Albania my home by and with Aleksandros Memetaj, directed by Giampiero Rappa.

The show is included in the review The Theater seeks Home, which includes theatrical and musical performances represented in private apartments, in a newfound proximity to the public.

Albania my home tells the true story of an Albanian immigrant, Aleksandros Memetaj, author and interpreter of the monologue, who in the 1991, just six months old, comes with his father, Alexander Memetaj, in Brindisi, finally on the Italian coast, in search of a new life, far from the violence and repressions present in Albania after the collapse of the communist regime.

The story told by Memetaj will rebuild to the public his real life experiences and his stories lived in our country as an immigrant, in the small town of Fiesso D'Artico, between Padua and Venice, his status as an Italian citizen among Italians, but different among the same, between episodes of racism and bullying.

Albania my home is the narration of two stories compared, that of the two generations represented by father and son, Alexander and Aleksandros, and their personal but at the same time universal events, characterized by the economic and physical efforts and the fears felt during the departure and the journey, the humiliations and the tiredness at the arrival. In two minds dominated by intense love for their land but hated at the same time, so as to put all their hope in the new homeland.
