Work has begun for the new lighting on the Median Axis in the province of Naples with solar panels and LEDs, for the safety of travelers.
On thesse Mediano which connects Lake Patria, to Giugliano, with the municipalities north of Naples, will be lighting was installed in the junctions and in the acceleration and deceleration lanes which are not yet illuminated, making the route for all travelers much safer.
This is decided by the Metropolitan City of Naples for this important road of 33 kilometers, the former SS 162 NC, which will see the installation of lighting, in the specific, at the Acerra-Circumvesuviana exits, Acerra Casalnuovo, Highway A1 e SS 87 NC. The contract with the company that won the contract was signed on 4 October 2018 and the work will cost 700 thousand euros.
The lighting system will work through photovoltaic panels that, during the day, they will absorb the sunlight that will be transformed into energy, released during the first hours of darkness to ensure that the street lamps are switched on. For this system, LEDs will be used for their multiple advantages: first of all they bring a considerable economic saving, they also last a lot and require little maintenance.
The end of the works should be within 140 days.
