From this morning Wednesday 23 March 2022 there are many disservices in the Trenitalia stations of Ferrovie dello Stato due to a hacker attack that hit computer systems.

It seems that the trains are not experiencing many delays, but there are disruptions for travelers even in the stations of Napoli, of course in that Centrale, but also in those where the meter line 2 which belongs to Ferrovie dello Stato.

This hacker attack prevents you from buying train tickets at self-service ticket counters and counters, but does not affect the possibility of buy them online.

Ferrovie dello Stato also announced that tickets can be purchased directly on the train, at the conductor, without a surcharge.

The causes of the hacker attack

According to qualified Italian security sources, this attack is thought to have been caused by Russian hackers. According to some analyzes carried out it seems that there are elements attributable to an infection with cryptolocker.

It is a Trojan, that is a malware (or a malicious code, in short it is in any case a sub-category of a computer virus) that has infected the systems of Ferrovie dello Stato. Specifically this is termed ransomware because it is a virus that is used to then ask for a ransom to those who are attacked so that the limitation can be eliminated.
