The famous returns Carnival of Villa Literno, the well-known unmissable celebration that enriches the calendar of carnival events with its 39th edition. The appointment, rooted in tradition since 1985, stands out for its ability to blend entertainment and social reflection, attracting hundreds of participants and visitors.
The party, the Carnival of Villa Literno
Il Carnival of Villa Literno positions itself at the center of attention thanks to its unique formula that combines entertainment, culture and social commitment. The five days of celebrations scheduled for 3, 4, 10, 11 and 13 February 2024, see the town transformed into an open-air stage.
Allegorical floats and extras give life to an engaging experience, with the support of the entire community who actively participates in the creation of costumes, masks and sets. The districts competing – Corso Umberto-Baracca, Via Roma-Ponte Pagliarelle, Castle-Railway, Historic Center-Gallinelle – discuss highly topical issues, demonstrating how the carnival can also be a tool for dialogue and awareness.
The 2024 Carnival program at Villa Literno
Il Carnival of Villa Literno offers a rich program that develops over the following days:
- Saturday February 3: First Long Masked Course Corso Umberto I, from 16:00 to 21:00.
- Sunday February 4: Second Masked Course, always up Corso Umberto I, with the same time.
- Saturday February 10: Third Masked Course, this time in Via dei Mille, from 16:00 to 21:00.
- Sunday February 11: Fourth Masked Course in Via dei Mille, keeping the same hours.
- Tuesday February 13: Grand Finale of the Carnival, with the course taking place in Via dei Mille and an hourly extension until midnight, to close the party in style.
How to participate
To participate in the Carnival of Villa Literno, you need to purchase an entrance ticket at the cost of 5 €. The ticket will allow access to all areas of the party, including the masked courses and the various planned activities. A portion of the proceeds will be allocated to charitable purposes, underlining the community's commitment not only to having fun but also to supporting important causes.
