In Città della Scienza there will be a Great Reconstruction party, to celebrate the reopening of the Science Center
Two years have passed since the terrible incendio doloso that on the cold night of March 4, 2013 destroyed four sheds of the interactive science museum of the Idis foundation - City of Science.
The causes have never been defined and the culprits have not been identified, although investigations are still ongoing. Thanks also to the funds obtained from private donations of citizens, including many intellectuals, the destroyed warehouses were rebuilt in record time and the next 4 March 2015 there will be one Great Reconstruction Day, to celebrate the reopening of the Science Center and to make visitors aware of the importance of the pole as a meeting point between science and people.
The Città della Scienza foundation was born, in fact, from an idea by Vittorio Silvestrini, who wanted to convert the degraded area of Bagnoli, after the environmental disaster caused by Italsider, into a technological pole with an international approach that divulges scientific and hi-tech culture through an innovative methodology based on interactivity, multimedia and scientific experiments.
In this perspective, six pavilions were built, each of which represented a scientific discipline such as biology, astronomy and physics. Among these we remember the wonderful Planetarium, the Officina dei Piccoli, the Congress Center and the Science Center.
We can not miss this day full of initiatives.
