At the Diana Theater in Naples, the Concert of Memory with the Santa Sofia Orchestra to remember the victims of the Holocaust.
The 27 January 2017 will take place on Concert of Memory al Teatro Diana, in addition to that provided for in program also at the Teatro San Carlo. To perform theStable Academy Chamber Orchestra of the Hagia Sophia with a repertoire of songs full of meaning and celebrations.
The event is organized by Ancem, Naples European Capital of Music Association and will be dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust. In fact, on January 27 of each year, the Day of Remembrance is celebrated (with a rich program also in Naples) For remember the victims of the Holocaust and ensure that, with cultural initiatives of all kinds, the public is sensitized to make sure that such events do not happen anymore.
Program of the concert
The concert will open with the "Prayer for cello and string orchestra”Inspired by the themes of Ernest Bloch and will continue with a work by Italian composer Silvia Colasanti, entitled Three Nights. The first violin Marco Serino will perform "Three pieces for violin" by John Williams and the conclusion will be entrusted to Russian pianist Dimitri Shostakovich with “Quartetto n ° 8” (version for string orchestra. The pianist dedicated this work to the victims of all wars after visiting Nazi concentration camps.
The guest of honor will be Oreste Bisazza Terracini, poet, adopted son of Umberto Elia Terracini and witness of the Holocaust who will read some of his poems.
Finally, the Diana Theater will participate in the initiative for the actor Arnoldo Foà, announced by MibAct, and will send a recording from Vittorio Pavoncello's “Euthanasia of a memory”.
