Interesting protocol of the University of Naples Federico II against Coronavirus!

In the battle against the Coronavirus the excellences of Southern Italy are asserting themselves, in fact after the protocol of the Cotugno and Pascale of Naples with the drug Tocilizumab which is having excellent results, another important milestone comes from the studies ofFederico II University of Naples.

The Federico II protocol

The study started thanks to Guangdi Li and Erik De Clercq who carried out research published in the journal Nature, which precisely highlights how the Resveratrol could have a fundamental role in the fight against the virus, a molecule contained in the Red wine.

The Federico II protocol was made possible by Pharmacist Ettore Novellino who patented one polyphenol mixture, Taurisol, based on resveratrol extracted from pomace of Aglianico.

The director of the Monaldi pneumology department, Alessandro Sanduzzi Zamparelli, used this mixture, still in experimentation, in aerosol formulation in patients with TB bacilliferi to evaluate its anti-inflammatory flow rate, and was seen, in two patients, that after a single administration the inflammatory response was halved.
