Work started in record time to remedy the damage caused by the storm on the Naples waterfront.

As we know, the terrible storm of 28 December 2020 on the Naples waterfront caused great damage to the area, destroying part of walls and roads and some sidewalks in the stretch from Piazza Vittoria to the university. Not only that, because the strong waves have caused not insignificant damage especially to restaurateurs which for years have had their own premises on via Partenope.

In addition, as unfortunately we have seen from the many online videos, even some vehicles that passed in the evening on the Lungomare were submerged by water, but fortunately there was no harm to people.

The reopening of via Partenope and the works

Fortunately, thanks to the intense work of the firefighters in the night, hours during which the road was completely closed to transit and traffic was diverted to the Riviera di Chiaia and Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the Lungomare was reopened itself on the morning of December 29th.

Thanks to the collaboration between public and private, work has already begun to remedy the damage and make the road safe again. From the night, as mentioned, we immediately got to work and at dawn the work of removal of debris, shards and all that was brought from the sea due to the strong wind and waves.

Also traders they are at the forefront of restoring the whole area, trying to limit the damage of this terrible storm that is in addition to the already heavy ones due to the Coronavirus emergency.
