Scientific laboratories, meetings with experts and debates during Darwin Week in Città della Scienza in Naples!
Until February 14 2016, the scientific pole City of Science of Naples will host the event Darwin Week, the week dedicated to the English naturalist Charles Darwin.
Throughout the week there will be expert interventions, thematic guided tours, games, interactive demonstrations e workshops for the little ones to deepen and clarify aspects for many controversial and questionable scientists of Darwin's thought and works.
Through laboratories on flora and fauna, on the extraction of the DNA and geology will demonstrate the relevance of the Darwinian scientific method and talk about the latest results of research applied toevolution of living species, theorized by Darwin, according to which in the evolutionary process a natural selection takes place that determines its survival.
An educational event to introduce children to the fascinating animal world from which we evolved.

The study of plants in the work of Charles Darwin. In-depth study and scientific laboratory by Dr. Riccarda d'Onofrio, Biologist, IDIS Foundation. A botany laboratory activity will follow.

Mendel and Darwin, the birth of modern biology. In-depth study and scientific laboratory by Dr. Rosa Procolo, Biologist, IDIS Foundation. A laboratory activity on DNA extraction will follow.

Biodiversity and Insects. In-depth study and scientific laboratory by dr. Gianluca Vitiello, Entomologist.
A laboratory activity on insect observation will follow.

Biodiversity workshop: how to approach and observe small animals. Manual workshop by the guides of Città della Scienza.
13.00 hours
Biodiversity and Insects. In-depth study and scientific laboratory by dr. Gianluca Vitiello, Entomologist. A laboratory activity on the observation of insects will follow.
15.00 hours
Darwin and sexual selection. Scientific study by dr. Guglielmo Maglio, Naturalist, IDIS Foundation. A laboratory activity on the construction of an artificial anthill will follow.
