Destination China is the program of events, shows and workshops dedicated to the discovery of Chinese culture and traditions
City of Science dedicates an internal weekend to discover the fascinating Chinese traditions and inventions, accompanying us on a journey into the culture of this distant country.
On 7 and 8 February 2015, China will be the protagonist of many activities with Destination China, events aimed at all, that will make us know the most beautiful oriental inventions, the particular Asian cuisine, the best minds and Chinese geniuses, but also the games, the objects, the scientific method that led to the study and the discovery of many stars.
Everything will be made more interesting and fun thanks to the setting up of laboratories and activities that, even in a playful way, will allow us to discover the many facets of a culture that is so far away from us, but which has influenced us in many occasions.
A few days after Chinese New Year, which this year falls on February 19, Città della Scienza offers us a journey through the colors and sounds of local festivities.

SPECIAL EVENT
Lóng, the fleeing dragon
Lóng, a Chinese dragon who does not spit fire, disappeared in Città della Scienza, but could cause a downpour. Courage and wit will not suffice, between armored ships, stars and strange clocks, in the tortuous path to retrieve it, we will learn to communicate with the dragon in its language and to test our memory.

It forms, deforms, is observed. The story of the life of a volcano
A journey into the world of volcanoes to learn about the eruptive dynamics, all through a seminar during which there will be the screening of original videos or virtual reconstructions of phenomena associated with eruptions.
From the formation of a volcano to its deformation over the centuries, we will know all the mechanisms associated with this fascinating and fearful phenomenon of nature.

Also on Sunday 8 February, from 10.00 to 13.00, there will be a meeting with experts from the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Southern Italy. They will explain how to prevent human food diseases and animal diseases and present activities and research in the field of monitoring the hygienic quality and the risk of microbial contamination of food for human use and zootechnical use.
