For 2016 Christmas parties a temporary pedestrian and traffic device has been provided in the Ancient Center of Naples.

Also this year, on the occasion of the Christmas holidays, the Municipality of Naples has foreseen a pedestrian device and temporary traffic nella zona Old Center of the city that will come into force on 1 December 2016 and will end on 8 January 2017.

To allow thousands of tourists and citizens to spend the Christmas parties with the minimum of discomfort in terms of mobility, a limitation of access to those areas of the center has been devised. In particular, it is about the establishment of aUrban Pedestrian Area to integrate the ZTL and AP devices in force within the Centro Antico.

Below, the details of the ordinance.

The device will be active during the following times:

  • from 10,00 to 22,00 every day of the week (except those indicated in the next point, which will have different times) from 1 December 2016 to 8 January 2017
  • from 8,00 to 14,00 on Saturday 24 December 2016, Sunday 25 December 2016, Monday 26 December 2016, Saturday 31 December 2016 and Sunday 1 January 2017

Furthermore, in via dei Tribunali (from via Nilo a via Duomo), vico Purgatory in Arco, Piazza San Gaetano, Piazzetta San Gregorio Armeno, Piazza Gerolomini, vico Cinquesanti, vico Giganti, vico Gerolomini, it is necessary to allow access to the Pedestrian Area only for vehicles of residents which lead to the driveways of the buildings inside the area itself, ai rescue vehicles and emergency, to the cars of the Civil Protection and to those accompanying the disabled in the Pedestrian Area.

The will always be present Civil Protection Service that, in collaboration with the Police, will be committed to inform citizens and tourists on the device in question and will facilitate traffic.
