Neapolitan language exam at Piazza Dante

All citizens will be able to test their Neapolitan thanks to "I speak napulitano" in Piazza Dante!

Each Friday and Saturday, starting from last 17 April 2015 , until the next one 2st May, citizens will be able to test their "dialect" thanks to "I speak Naples", A real Neapolitan language exam, organized between the spaces of Piazza Dante, in Naples.

The project, organized by the association "Gimbattista Basile ", will see all the participants involved in tests, quizzes and translations from Italian into Neapolitan; the same one that in 2012 was recognized by UNESCO as a language in extinction.

At the end of the exercise, from the results obtained, a statistic will be produced that will highlight it current state of knowledge of the Neapolitan in the city and how far the oral expression from the written one is.

Furthermore, the project represents the preface de "A party of lengua nosta 2015", the official celebration of the language made in Naples, which will be held from 13 to 15 May 2015 at the complex of San Domenico Maggiore, with a program full of events included in the calendar of May of the Monuments.

A beautiful initiative therefore, for improve the Neapolitan and above all to give a meaningful reply to those who consider it in extinction, as explained by the president of the cooperative Basile, Pasquale Farro.
